Monthly Meetings
Guild meetings are held at the Upper Saddle River Library and begin at 7 p.m. There is a $5 guest fee for nonmembers at meetings when there is a paid speaker.
January 28, 2010: Tapestry (Archie Brennan)
Archie Brennan has been a leading international figure in tapestry for more than 25 years. His work is in major art museums around the world and he has taught and lectured at universities and art schools since 1962. He began a 7 year full time tapestry apprenticeship in 1948, and is also is an arts graduate, both out of Edinburgh, Scotland. February 25, 2010: Spin-In
It's our traditional Rock Day Spin-In! (And, as is also becoming a tradition, it is not in the same month as Rock Day.) Bring your wheels, spindles, charkas, rope spinners, and other fiber-twisting and -preparation tools. Get some work done on your current project, try out a friend's equipment, teach a newbie, learn a new skill. Anyone interested in spinning or learning to spin is welcome. We won't have a paid speaker (though we anticipate having several simultaneous lecture/demonstrations/lessons), so there is no guest fee for this meeting.

Arlene has offered to teach us "anything that is offered at Stitches." Prior to this meeting, we will discuss possibilities, come up with a short list of candidate topics, and then vote...probably via the Yahoogroup, so if you don't have your account set up, please see Elisa.
May 27, 2010: Dyeing with Kitchen-Safe Dyes (Doris)
We had such a great time when Doris taught this the first time several years ago that we've gotten her to agree to run the program again. Bring some wool yarn or roving--no mordanting necessary. You may also want to pick up some egg dyes when they go on sale Easter Monday, or bring cake dyes, Kool-Aid, and/or food coloring.
