Any interested fiber group in the greater Mid-Atlantic region may request acceptance as a Member Guild in the MidAtlantic Fiber Association. (The region includes guilds in Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and such other states as determined by the Board of Directors.)

In addition, any interested commercial enterprise, institution, organization, school or individual who is not a member of a Member Guild may request acceptance as an Associate Member.

Member guilds send one representative to the Representative Assemblies held two to three times per year, where each guild has one vote. Associate members have no vote in the Representative Assemblies, although they are welcome to attend.

Initial membership terms begin on the date of acceptance and end of September 30 of the next succeeding even-numbered year (e.g., 2016, 2018, 2020). After the initial term, the membership term runs two years, for example, from October 1, 2016 to September 30, 2018.

Guild dues are dependent on guild membership size. For 2017-18, guild dues are:

  • Fewer than 25 members: $60
  • 26-50 members: $70
  • 51-100 members: $100
  • 101 or more members: $150

Associate member dues for 2017-18: $40
